A few days ago Emily and I were talking about "Work of Art," Season 2, which starts tonight on Bravo. Emily commented that it would be fun to try our hand at the challenges. Volley of conversation follows. End result: we decide to set up a blog dedicated to our pathetic and paltry attempts at recreating reality show challenges. Our first attempt will be tonight's episode of "Work of Art."
So here's how it will work...
We'll watch the beginning of the show--just enough to get the gist of the challenge. We'll agree on our interpretation of the challenge (we're not TV studios rolling in moolah and supplies... we're going to have to make some substitutions!!), and on a deadline. We'll post our version of the challenge and rules at that time.
What happens on deadline day?
On deadline day Emily and I will watch the rest of the show, and then blog about our process and final product (with lots of pictures, of course).
What happens if there's a TWIST??
Ah, yes, a reality show favorite. Well, have no fear. The show will go on "pause," we'll update our blog with a "how we're interpreting the twist" post, and we will make whatever changes are needed. You won't see the posting 'til after we finish watching the show.
How do you decide who wins?
YOU decide. We'll post some sort of poll, and you can vote for the winning project! Hooray!
How does all of this begin?
In about an hour we'll watch the challenge issuance of "Work of Art" and agree on the terms of Challenge 1. Soon thereafter (within the next day or so) you will see a post detailing our agreed-upon rules for Bringing Reality Home, Challenge #1. On Saturday we'll post our final pieces of art.
This will be interesting. :)
